AMERICON IDLE

Good. We have your attention.

After getting off to a great start with the astounding limitations on the rights of employees to seek legal remedies for past employment discrimination and the radical about-face on the Congressional effort to ban a type of abortion-- the new face of the US Supreme Court once again showed how truly fugly it is today!

Where do we even begin?

First there was a ruling that benefits business in an environmental dispute over endangered species.

Another ruling weakens the court's prior precedent regarding campaign finance law in support of Wisconsin Right to Life (i.e. "free" speech if you can afford it).

Next, in a move that many feel violates the seperation of church and state, the court ruled that U.S. taxpayers lack legal standing to challenge a White House initiative that gives religious charities federal money... (which is only fair seeing as how religious types have to pay taxes toward stem cell research).

...and last but not least, a high school kid lost his fight for student free speech involving a silly banner:

There will be no bong hits for Jesus after all.
